Invitation
today, i will invite you to my home.
the lamps are oiled, and flowers
perfume the air.
the antiques are dusted
while my windows are translucent,
glittering, and bright.
sweet apples and unfurling grapes
drape across the dining table.
come, for i have prepared well, and
your presence graces the night.
we shall dine in dimness and toast in thankfulness.
an owl will murmur as a
breeze wisps by,
already a fading memory.
yet as we pass with time, we’ll hum
melodies to Selene, herself.
la luna, la belleza,
tú eres, tú eres.
