An Impossible Situation
  The house is empty,
  silent and cold.
  Entering my bedroom,
  I cannonball onto the bed.
  Ignoring all of my homework,
  I turn on the TV.
  “This show again?”
  I hear.
  My heart races,
  who said that?
  For I was home alone…
  except for my dog.
  “Don’t act so surprised.”
  I hear it again.
My dog jumps next to me,
  starring in my face.
  “Can we watch something else?”
  He says right to me.
  I quickly change the channel,
  too scared to speak.
  “Yes, keep this on.”
  He says.
“You’re going to be late for school!”
I hear coming from outside my room.
  I open my eyes,
  finding my dog watching me.
I think “It was only a dream”,
as my dog winks and runs off.
