Poetry is an act of nature
It’s a wave pulling you in every direction
Uncomfortable at first, wonder-filled when submerged
It’s looking at a forest, just trying to describer it’s beauty
Poetry can be hard, a struggle to even start
But when you get going, it’s near impossible to end
Poetry isn’t a one-time occurrence
It’s an over and over again thing
It’s a tears on my cheeks again thing
A ride down a forest trail just by listening thing
A Oh my God. This is ME thing
Poetry is EVERYTHING

I need people to realize poetry isn't a serious thing.  It's something to express your emotions and can be used to enjoy or if you need to cry.  It's something anybody of any denomination can use.  It's for Democrats and Republicans and Christians and Jews and Muslims and Hindus.  It's for everybody.
