In My Journal
In My Journal
there’s coffee spilled everyday in an old,
red, Ford truck while my dad and I speed to school,
because we are running late--
again.
there are family times, such as
my mom, dad, and I preparing dinner together, mainly barbeque,
hunting trips with my dad, and
floating in a flatbed canoe every summer on the family float;
jumping out to swim while sunshine warms my back
and emptying the canoe at least once.
there’s
periwinkle nail polish with sparkles, a blue camo fedora,
ice cream,
smiley faces, worn-out blue jeans,
a dog I can’t imagine living without, and awesome friends-- Kim, Isabella, Emma, etc.
Things that just won’t quit, despite old age and wear,
are music to my soul.
Love lives in my journal.
