Dearest mother
how strong she is in my eyes
leaving in the darkest of night
leaving the darker man behind

Dearest Mother
how she inspires me
telling me over and over
“You’re going to change the world someday,”
those words
helping me leave my fears behind with my shadow.

Dearest mother
she has shown me the courage
the courage to stand up for myself
?by taking me away from there,
stopping his hand,
instead of letting it penetrate her flesh.

Dearest mother
you took me away
away from the abusive home we once lived
walking out with pride going in?
with every step she took.

she became my first best friend
as we cracked jokes togethe?r on a daily basis?
as we blasted music in the car and sang
as well we told each other our problems
she has shown me my mental right from wrong
as she has grown with me from this nightmare.

Dearest Mother
how much I have seen her
hiding her pain from me.
stress from work

Dearest mother
how I have seen the infinite amount of work on her shoulders
yet she still gives a smile that lights up a room

Dearest mother
how we have both suffered similar heartache
with tears in her eyes telling me,
“It’s going to be okay.“
while holding overdue bills in her hands

Dearest mother
I could lift three hundred pounds
yet never be as strong as she is,
the envy fills me constantly.

Dearest mother
she is my world
without her
?I wouldn’t be here?
in this new world
she made for me

Dearest mother
?she makes me feel safe
taking me
in her loving embrace.?
I want to have the have the strength to say,
”Let me help you.“
yet my lips stay sealed as much as I try to speak.

Dearest mother
we have had our differences
as parent and child would
yet we are continuously inseparable.

Dearest mother
she never ceases to amaze
because I continuously think
that there is no one better
bringing light
to my wandering shadow
?that is why she will continue to
and always be
my dearest mother.?

My mother is my biggest rolemodel and my biggest inspiration for this piece because it is about my real life. I want this poem to show my audience how much mother's care for us and how much they impact our lives and all they do for us. I had to write a poem for class and I had to inspiration and I was at a writers block. Then I received a message on my phone from my mom and then it hit. My main inspiration all along can be my poem.
