Technology
This is an invention that changed everything.
It started as a bulky computer
that was the hot thing at home or at work.
Then got smaller and smaller
until it got mobile.
It’s now in the hands of people
walking on streets in cities everyday.
Whether they’re texting someone,
calling a friend, or trying to find
their way home with a digital map,
its opening multiple windows
to nearly endless opportunities,
life saving and nearly useless.
It can be as small as making a device
that finds your keys, or as big as making a machine
that can cure a disease.
However, at the same time,
it is a disease.
It’s making people lazy, obsessed
with the creation that they are bearing
in their hands.
Staring at the screen for endless hours,
laying down on couches eating chips
until they’ve seen every possible post or update that is made.
Technology, useful but addictive.
