She is like the water
She is like the water,
She is stronger then you know,
She is deep enough to drown you,
But soft enough to heal you.
She is swifter the soaring hawk,
Yet her stillness touches all.
While her shallows are quite warm and clear,
Her deeps are dark and murky,
Far down they are cold as ice.
She can put out the burning flames
But she can also spread them bigger.
She can thaw out the cool and hardened soul,
And tear tall bridges down.
Underneath all her smooth reflections,
There’s a girl we do not know,
And she has in her heart a depth
Which mortals fear and do not go.

I was in the ER when i wrote this and as i saw people pass i wondered how shallow they pretended to be and what masks they wear and who they are when you get to know them. I often wonder how different the world would be if we all took off our masks and were the people we were meant to be.
