My boat is sinking,
No, wait,
I’ve been pushed out,
I’m sinking, fast.

I see everyone else
Thriving,
Breathing,
And
Surviving.

I gasp for air,
I think I got a little,
But no it’s just my
Lungs filling,
Slowly,
And painfully.

I thrash violently,
My muscles burn,
My head is going to explode,
My eyes roll,
And
My lungs feel like they are flaming.

As my feet touch the bottom
I see a flash of light,
I see you, my Saving Grace,
Standing before me with
A knife in one hand
And my heart in the other
I scream for you to stop and save me;
You can’t hear before I scream again I see nothing at all.

They say that your life
Flashes before you’re yes
When you die, but
I guess I was the unlucky one,
Because all I saw was you betraying me
As my lifeless body lay at the bottom
Waterlogged and pathetic
There’s no one for me now
I don’t know why I tried.

I hope someday they find my body
And you are the first to see what became
Of a son that you never loved
And never can.
You’ll cry but the tears will be fake,
You’ll be over it in a day or two,
You’ll say that you love a lifeless body,
You’ll try to comprehend the reasons,
You’ll avoid conversations about me, but
You’ll never love me Dad.
