Summer is the sand on my towel,
As I shake it off with the wind.
It is the greasy sunscreen on my body,
As my mom sprays it on.
Summer is the cool breeze,
As I sit outside with a popsicle and a basketball.
Summer is the jingle of the ice cream truck,
As the children race after it with old bills in their hands.
Summer is my tennis racket flying swiftly through the air.
Summer is all the doors and windows open,
as we watch golf on the couch.
A wet bathing suit a sign of a good day at the pool.
Early mornings arriving at the pool for dive practice.
Summer,
It is the feeling of happiness everywhere you go.

This piece is a poem a made for school about a summer. The coming spring inspired me to write this.
