Curiosity
Is exploring a new house.
You wonder what's around every corner-
not sure what you'll find,
but wanting to eventually
know it all like the back of your hand.
It can be wanting to figure things
out for yourself.
Finishing the puzzle,
or moving that huge rock
out of the way,
to see what it hides.
You’re always in search
of that old baseball
that went over the fence;
wondering if you’ll ever get it back.
It is getting to know the new girl.
You listen to her stories,
and what she has to say.
Curiosity is wanting new experiences.
It is finding out
what it’s like to skydive,
or what’s in that river
behind the woods.
It is running across the beach,
scouring the sand
to discover the perfect seashell.
You know it might not be out there,
but it can’t hurt to try.
