In the Beginning
In the beginning,
it was peachy! It was fine!
It was lovely and divine.
In the middle,
it was downhill, it was rocky.
It was bitter and you were cocky.
In the end,
it was peaceful. It was gracious.
It was silent and I was free.
In the end you never changed,
and in the end I always thought you would.
I’ve become the person
you were afraid of:
happy,
spirited,
and,
my true-self.
You hindered my potential, you blocked the sun from allowing me to grow.
You wanted to see me suffer.
I am free.
I am proud.
You muffled my voice and you took away my sight.
I broke from the rusted chains,
And I screamed:
I Am
Free.
