Dreams
As children, they tell us to dream
But as we graduate high school,
they tell us to think within our limits
The dreams we once held are no longer realistic
So then why were we told to dream
What was the point if one day, 18 years later
You would stand in front of me
And tell me what I should become
As if it was all set in stone

I think that everyone, at least once in their life, struggles with reality. Some sooner than others. As children, we are told that the sky is the limit, but as we grew older this doesn't seem like the case. Upon growing up, one must consider the risk and stability of a career before they can decide whether or not they want to pursue it. So many students nowadays choose careers that are more stable over going for what they are passionate about.
