My eyes open out of the sleep I never had. Rays of amber fall onto my face, mocking me on how I'm still here. The sunrise is my fall. I scream and it ricochets back off these walls. The scars I wear on my heart, on my sleeve sit idle. Waiting, as the waves crash, growing until they're tidal. Battle wounds, I call them. I made it through the battle, but will I win the war?
