The Five Senses
My tongue stings with a hint of blood
Pouring in like a wild flood
  The sound of chirping birds
Pierces my ears with undefined words
  My crusted eyes creep awake
Bringing me back to the reality of heartache
Warm feet brush the cold tile
As I stand, I try to raise a smile
They say it gets easier everyday
But all I can see are streaks of grey
  Rippling through my mind
Making me wish I were blind
I never knew how a heart could break
It scared me, how much someone could take
  Your entire heart
  And rip it apart
  And yet here, I sit
  In this wanderless pit
  Using my five senses
To never again, let down my fences.
