Walking Through the Years
As we walk through the doors,
On the first day of high school,
We walk with excitement,
Looking forward to the next four years of memories.
As we walk out the doors,
On the last of our freshman year,
We have even more joy than we did nine months earlier,
Looking forward to the next three of freedom,
With the new friends we’ve made, to make more memories.
As we walk through the doors,
On the first day of senior year,
We walk slowly, taking in all of the glory that is senior year,
Looking forward to the many lasts, remembering all the good times we had.
As we walk onto the field or court,
For the last time in our high school careers,
We take a moment to soak in what was some of the best times of our lives,
Remembering the family we became with the team.
As we walk through the doors,
For the last time,
To walk across the stage,
The good times we had all seem to flash before us.
As we walk out the doors,
For the very last time,
Our emotions explode,
Joy, Sadness, and Fear

I was inspired to write this piece because I am graduating soon and wanted to write about the memories and emotions throughout the years.
