Pride
Meet Pride.
He goes by a few names --
Ego, Class, Distinction, Envy,
but he normally sticks with Pride.
He is by far the richest man in town;
he wears the classiest dress,
drives the most expensive car,
and went to the best school.
Pride really seems to know everyone by name,
but Pride is really fond of the details --
he knows where they went to college,
he knows their job,
he knows how much they make,
he knows how much their coworkers make,
he knows their children and what they’ve achieved,
he knows what house they live in.
he knows how much their neighbor’s houses cost,
he knows everything.
But Pride’s real specialty is knowing everyone’s mistakes.
It appears Pride is at least acquainted with everyone,
but he is only really intimate the rich and politicians.
They often consult with Pride to make decisions.
Pride is excellent about helping people better themselves,
often at the expense of others,
but that is not of his concern.
Pride, himself, lives alone,
in a massive house,
cold marble floors
tall doors,
and extravagant windows,
that is completely empty inside.
The funny thing about Pride,
was that he never appeared to age.
people always remember him being around;
no one can imagine life without him.
