Open Mouth Eaters
I feel disgusted and I start to cringe.
I’m sitting at lunch,
watching the spit and food mix into a dough like form.
As you laugh I see the food fly out of your mouth,
and land in mysterious places.
I’m sitting at your house enjoying my meal,
as I get distracted by loud smacking and chomping.
I look up at you as you shove everything into your mouth,
like you haven’t eaten for months.
I’m sitting in class finishing my notes,
as I start to hear something strange.
I look up to my friend to see if she hears it too.
Then I realize it’s my teacher crunching her chips,
as she teaches her lesson.
It makes me sick to my stomach.
I move around in my seat and plug my ears,
to block out the sound.
To all open mouth eaters,
please close your mouth when you eat.
We do NOT want to see or hear it.
