The Chorus of War

Can you hear it?
The machine guns are in harmony spitting fire at each other,
the heavy artillery is belting out its bass notes-
boom
boom
BOOM!
The soprano screech of the raging jets flying above head,
the stomp of the soldiers in unity marching down low into the desert,
the distant cries of strangers fighting together dissolve into the smoke,
their eternal sacrifice is burned and forgotten.
This is the chorus of war, and onward it plays,
for it knows it will never end.
