The Roads We Will Travel
The road was vast, but
the determination in our heart was pure gold.
A whisper of cicadas and pine trees
in one instant.
A shout of salt-water in the next.
Four sets of wandering eyes,
four sets of hands grasping for omniscience.
Without a destination in mind,
or really a place to go home.
We followed that yellow spotted
line of highway...
Until our souls could take us
no more.
