Miles
I am miles from where I used to be
  Life was a steep climb
Doing my best through each obstacle
Yet never reaching the mountain top
It took me into the darkest places
  And taught me harsh lessons
With each mile I traveled lighter
Letting go of travelers and worries as if they were balloons
Accepting that sometimes I had to face the road alone
I loved my body for carrying me
And my mind for instilling spirit and hope
Looking back on the many miles I feel exhaustion
  and hurt
  Pride and strength
I am grateful for the miles I have traveled
And the lessons they have taught me
