The Cage
Putting green paper above ourselves,
Or treating others poorly for being themselves,
Stuck in a cage we call life,
Filled with sparring,
Filled with strife,
Perceptions that leave scarring,
They tell you to live one way,
Be divergent and they’ll make you pay,
Working until you die,
They take half of your share,
So what if you cry?
They wouldn’t care,
“It’s for the better good,” They say,
While watching you decay,
Without time to discuss,
“Give your things to us,”
Thinking they’re clever,
No way out of this cage,
We’re stuck here forever,
This is the new age;
