I Looked Up To You
I looked up to you in every way
I looked into your loving green eyes and fell into that trap
I waited for you to lift my heart up like you said you would
I waited for you to say thank you but that never happened
I waited for you to look at me in that way
I waited for you to open the door for me
But I guess that was to much to ask for
I was like the strings on a guitar
The ones that you play with an echoing a beautiful sound
I was just another girl another one to pass around
I looked up to you
I wanted you
But what you have done cannot be changed
What you have made me feel is not okay
You are no longer someone I put first
Not in my world or in my heart
You have lost everything from me
My love that I could have given you
The happiness I could've given you is gone
You were once someone to me
You were once my shoulder to cry on
Now you are gone and hope you stay gone.
You did this to yourself and made everyone stop.
Trying to get them to feel sorry
But honey, soon everyone's going to leave you behind
Showing you how you make people feel
I have
Stop caring for you
Stop being there for you.
You are just another person.
I pray to God
With all the bruises on my heart that you left behind
That you stay gone.
I pray one day
I won't sit here waiting
Looking at my phone every second
Waiting for the apology I will never get

I was inspired to write this by a guy who broke my heart. He told me many lies that I believed and thought he was someone he was not.
