The Different War
Littering the world with our laughter.
Successful, humble, and jubilant.
Envious of our lifestyles,
rumors of war are blocked by obliviousness.
Positivity is everything.
Family, education, good health.
Life is a blessing.
Evolution of death,
the public drugged on hand fed lies.
We are no longer human, rather animals, like cattle.
Spit on, dirty mules.
Our lives are stripped and torn away from us, segregation is an understatement.
Rounded up we are deported, some to work, others to die.
Families separated,
I wait in a cage, a prisoner, a victim, tortured, all awaiting the same fate.
Chambers of death reek over Europe, we jump at the hiss of Nazi voices.
As long as there is life, there is hope.
Crowds of sickly dead figures are gathered.
Despair and anxiety set in.
Alive but unable to breath,
Liberation, we are free.
The Holocaust is over, ending with its childhood and countless lives.
I am now a survivor.
