friend.
how do you go about losing a friend?
is it your fault,
or theirs?
how can you be laughing with them one day,
and be missing them the next?
a year ago you could talk to them all night long,
today, it’s difficult just to say hi.
how do you express that the person who has filled your heart,
has suddenly broke it?
a day goes by and you think it’ll be better tomorrow.
a year goes by, and you wonder when that day will ever come.
how can you tell yourself that we’ve moved on?
do you try to regain that friendship,
or leave it behind?
how do you know if you’ve lost a friend?
what if the friend lost you.

I wrote this as I was thinking about people in my life, and how you determine what ended a friendship. When a friendship of mine seemed to suddenly end, I would constantly wonder if it were something I had done, or maybe they thought they did something wrong. It's hard to say what has become, or what was of a friendship.
