Family
They tell me family matters
That I should care about someone simply because we are related
Not because I actually love them
But I don’t feel it
Being told what to believe gets my blood boiling instead
Knowing that the expectations for me are based on my birth
My personality and everyone else's are irrelevant
We just have to be together
Because family gatherings aren’t for fun or feelings
It’s for a false image
They’re for forcing everyone to be in the same place so we can pretend
Pretend that we’re perfect while the whispering behind people proves everyone wrong
