Ebb and Flow
Born on a Sunday
To the early spring rains
Snow melting
Rivers roaring
Life reborn
Like the early flowers I grow on Monday
Springing from the thawed ground
Learning the goods of the world
Learning its evils
But it doesn’t seem to bad
Living on Tuesday
In the Summer heat
Escaped from all obligations
Living without worry
Tranquility from the rest of the year
Wednesday is restless
Summer comes to an abrupt end
As the rains come
The leaves turn
And so do I
Thursday is lonely
Like the trees I give up everything
to bring in the next generation
Buckling down to assure they can succeed
Trying my best to give them a better life than myself
Friday brings Fervor
Soon this week will end so I can finally live again
The storms roar louder and the days grow shorter
If I work hard enough I can finish this day
On saturday I can rest
But Saturday ends too soon
The week passes
I can settle down to enjoy the holiday
Snow falls on the windowsill
But night comes
And the silence sets in
Before I can say goodbye
