Library of Me
I am words
My heart is a pen
And my mind is a book,
No, a whole collection of books.
You know what they say:
do not judge a book by its cover.
So understand this
my body is merely one page
in the library of me
It is not the most beautiful page
It is not the ugliest page
It is nurtured and cared for
But it is not the most loved page
in the library of me
This ink my heart bleeds
may disappear from my body,
but the library of me will still
stand tall.

I wrote this poem one day while I was feeling as though all people saw in me was my body and my appearance. I wanted to say that there is so much more to me than just my body. I care for my physical being, but I care more about my mental being. The reason for this is because after I die, there will be no more of my physical being, but I will be able to leave behind pieces of me through my writing and poetry. The main goal of my poetry is to have somebody relate to it or be inspired by it in some way.
