SYRIA
She was as calm as sea
Left to rot under the mercy of fate
No one could help her succumb to her wounds
Her foes gleamed at her woes
Her children were dying each day beneath the scorching sun
Battling day and night
Her daughters and grandchildren drifted off to lands unknown
Where they prone vulnerability
Once proud she now sunk in deep scarlett red of her own blood
Is there no one who can anchor her to life?
