My first WKCE test was taken at a school with wooden desks and a timer on a board saying who’s smart enough to get done first
That continued until 7th grade
I realized kids usually don’t do good on a standardized test because the person next to them answers were not correct
High school changed,
ACT prep was taken on a computer,
They upgraded from wooden desks.
Junior year was different, 2 hour ACT prep that helped you go over stuff you already learned.
But, more complex problems,
Except there’s a timer on the board saying who’s smart enough to finish first.
You learn the same stuff as everyone for 11 years and you all take the same test.
But, you all get different scores
So who’s really the smart one?
You? Or the system?
The system that started handing out standardized test in 3rd grade
Or the student who isn’t good enough to get 36 on the ACT because they aren’t regulated enough.
