"Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one." -Bruce Lee.

Every night,
I’m there dreaming,
About something that isn’t there,
But could be,

Everyday,
Is like the last,
Everyone has the same past,
Everyone knows that something should be there,
But, it isn’t.

Every night,
I want it to be there,
I want it to be beside me when I sleep,
For it to be there with me when I’m awake,
I want it to tell me that I’m enough,
That I’m loved,
For it to say good things to fill my heart.
I want it to embrace me,
For it to become a part of me,
For us to be conjoined,
So there is no more me or it,
But only us,

Everyday,
My heart burns for it,
For it to come upon me,
For it to befall upon my weary soul,
So that I may be refreshed,
I want it to come over me like the heavy rainstorms,
To wash over me,
To drown me.

But what is it?
What is love?
Is it the elderly couple on the street,
Sitting there holding hands?
Is it the two teenagers swearing that they’ll be there for each other, forever?
Is it the father who lifted a car to save his daughter,
The mother who gave her life for her son?
Is it the group of teenage friends,
Sitting by the pool laughing and enjoying each other’s presence,
What is love?
Love is unconditional,
It’s a burning sensation,
Deep in our hearts,
That keeps us tight,
That keeps us together,
Love is looking beyond someone’s skin,
Love is a force, a person, a place,
That starts wars,
And heals the wounded,
Love means doing anything for each other.

I feel it,
In my heart,
A primitive feeling,
That’s been burning for eons,
Thumping deep down,
A fire burning long and hard,
Fed by my desire,
That desire to be loved,
Unconditionally.

Every night,
I lay in my bed,
Dreaming of being loved,
Unconditionally,
For my OTP to come in,
For us to have that connection,
So it’s not longer he and I,
But us,

Everyday,
I hope that he’ll see me,
That he’ll look my way,
And see the desire in my eyes,
I hope that he’ll understand,
Just how much he means to me,
Just how much his jokes make me laugh,
Just how much his smile lights up my day,
Just how much his gaze makes me blush and feel all warm and fuzzy,
I hope he’ll understand my language,
That in a simple, huff of air and smile,
I’m saying so much more,
That in a “you’re ridiculous,”
I’m saying “you’re my dream,”
I hope that he’ll understand that I don’t expect him to be perfect,
But that he’s the one, perfect for me.
