City Skies
I live in the city
And car alarms blare at night
A quiet apartment
With lights filling the space like stars in the sky
There's an unspoken agreement
And feelings only felt
When the lights are dimmed
I play the cards I’m dealt
Sit beside me
Let yourself laugh
Moments like no other
Be steady, but live fast
My life has grown
And continue to grow it will
Like the buildings around me
And a cup half filled
I love to be free
And my skin reflects light
There’s nothing brighter than
The city at night
