Cold MAG

It is
So cold,
Like those
Whispers
In the trees
And the silk
Spider web
Collapsing
Beneath a
Blanket
Of ice.
But no
Soul tries
To help
Comfort a
Second being
Because warmth
Is difficult to share
And it’s safer to be
Alone. Sweet eyes
Go bitter; sweet
Words grow
Old. And
Some
Day
We will
All go deaf
To the sound
Of dreaming
The taste of a
Colorful dance
Once adorned
In velvet sun.
No flowers
Grow in
Ocean
Salt;
No
Life
Drifts
In smoke
Rising up,
From winter
Cities, frozen
Puddles, blue
Lips, blood.
Here we
Stand,
So far
From the sea
But so close
To drowning.
We breathe in
Breathe out,
Breathe in
Breathe
Out,
It is
So cold
It is so cold.

gorgeous poem. loved the unusual structure, which really captured the mood & tone of the poem.
