christmas, christmas time is near
the songs of the holidays fill my ear
children playing in the snow
covered in ice from head to toe
joy and cheer fill the air
tons of candy canes to spare
shoppers go from store to store
lines are spilling out the door
presents pile up under the tree
‘just one more gift!’ they plea and plea
the lights go off, the tree no longer shining bright
‘merry christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!”
