People don’t care.
They be pushin’ and shovin’
To prove you wrong,
A mental disease,
Does not appease,
A broken teen.
It’s not a game,
It’s not fun!
It’s the aftermath of someone shooting a gun.

People say, ”Anxiety is just being shy.”
Don’t you wish you can take it back,
When a girl has to prepare herself,
To present a project in front of her peers.
Don’t you wish you can take it back,
When she can’t do it,
She can’t breath.
When the panic is clearly in her eyes,
When she wants to feel air in her lungs,
But her mind is slowly smothering her,
With the thick quilt of anxiety.
Don’t you wish you can take it back,
When she can’t live a life full of laughter.
A life where she can’t make friends,
Or find someone to help her.
Don’t you wish you can take it back,
When she has a panic attack,
And there’s no one around to help her breath.
And she goes unconscious,
Sprawled out on the kitchen floor.
Don’t you wish you can take it back,
When her parents come home,
And see their baby girl,
Unconscious on the floor.
Her mother wails,
Mixing in with the cries
Of an ambulance racing by.

People say, “Depression isn’t real, it’s something made up by teens.”
Don’t you wish you can take it back,
When you see a boy,
Hanging humbly from his closet,
A note at his feet,
Saying goodbye to everyone he knew.
Don’t you wish you can take it back,
When his parents come in,
Expecting him to be studying, or playing video games,
And then they see the dead boy,
With his eyes opened wide,
Almost like in surprise.
Don’t you wish you can take it back?!
When his life turns black.
When he becomes,
What he’s felt all along,
Dead weight.

Mental Diseases are not a joke!
They be killing,
And slicing.
Cutting up the dreams of little boys,
And little girls.
Leaving them to feel empty,
In this huge world.
Leaving them,
In the power of their minds!
Leaving them to feel worthless,
And hopeless!
Don’t you wish you can take it back?!

I wrote this to bring awarness to mental diseases. I wanted others to see the dangers of these diseases. I wanted to help raise awareness.
