New Kid Nerves
Breathe. You are fine. Just relax.
Do not be nervous. You will get through this.
Being the new kid is not that hard.
It is an opportunity to be something new,
And if you are feeling incredibly bold,
You could try just being you.
Breathe. You are fine. Just Relax.
Do not worry. You will find your class.
The halls snake around, filled with twists and turns.
You can conquer this confusing labyrinth.
People are looking out for you,
And they will know what to do.
Breathe. You are fine. Just relax.
Do not be afraid. There will be a seat.
The lunchroom is booming with boisterous laughter,
And all its squeaky seats are there for someone.
Over there they are waving. They are tapping a seat.
Smile. Breathe. You can get through this.

Being the new kid my senior has inspired me to write this piece to be able to articulate the different worries and little stresses for those new kids who feel like they are alone in these feelings. They are real and normal, new experiences are scary and exciting all at the same time.
