Dark,Light
I am from the dad who wasn’t ready, and the mom who struggled to make ends meet. I am from the endless screaming that echoed through the house and always ended with the crash of things colliding with the ground.
I am from the boys who hurt me and my friends without even a second thought. watching while we crumbled to the ground. I am from the girls and boys who spread lies about me easier than they spread butter on bread.
I am from the sickening silence that stretches across the lifeless room full of people. I am from empty i love you’s and meaningless phrases.
I am from the countless nights resting my head on my rough cotton pillow case as an ocean of tears fell freely from my blank eyes. I am from the clock that keeps telling time even when i stop listening.
I am from the untamed rain pouring relentlessly against my face until it fills my eyes, and i can no longer see.
I am from the dark places where hope ceases to exist. I am from the places where light floods in like the sun on the warmest days.
I am from the dancing stars and midnight moonlight that give the night life. I am from sweet honey and the blossoming scent of gentle rose petals. I am from warm inviting smiles spread across the faces of those around me.
I am from resilience and learning to love myself. I am from inextinguishable happiness, and finding myself and those who truly love me.
I am from letting go of the people who don't even matter. I am from so much more than i give myself credit for.
