What If We Bled Flowers
What if we bled flowers?
What if petals flowed in our veins?
Would it make us more careful with our bodies?
Would it encourage a blade?
What if we bled music?
What if symphonies coursed under our skin?
Would we pay more attention to one’s rhythm,
As opposed to the skin they are in?
What if we bled light?
What if our forms glowed from within?
Could we shine beyond the darkness of others,
And let others light in?
What if we bled love?
What if affection seeped through our skin?
What if when our bodies tear open,
We see what kept the light in?
What if we never bled?
