The Block
Run Run Run
Until your
Legs and lungs
Can't run any more.
Sprinting through the
Park like your life
Depends on it
frantically look around
For incoming taggers
Your eyes meet
And you know you
Have to run again
You meet your
Teamate.
And smile at him
determined
To survive the full
10 minutes
With draining
Stamina you see
A hiding spot
You jump into
The dirt and hide
Behind the tree
Waiting there for
What seems like
Minutes
Hours
Days
You hear them
Walking and they
Are almost past you
Cough cough
They turn around
And stare deep into your
soul.
Your heart is beating
out of your chest
You know you can't
E s c a p e
tag you're done
It is over
. 15 minutes later
Your eating giant freezies
On his stoop
Juices dripping down
Your face.
With a smile
That seems like
It will never go away
It all
Happens on the
block

This piece was inspired by playing games with my best friend. I recently moved away from them and it got me thinking about all are fun times.
