A small sad thing is seeing the overgrown lawn of the house you grew up in because it has no tenant and no one to care for it.

A small sad thing is leaving all the pets that have passed and are buried in the backyard with that house.

A small sad thing is getting interrupted when you're trying to tell someone you care about about something you're really excited about.

A small sad thing is going to a family reunion and having your cousins being told they have to come say hi to you by their parents.

A small sad thing is sitting by yourself at the family reunion knowing the only family member that ever spoke to you is no longer here to make you feel welcomed.

A small sad thing is seeing your parents fond over one of your siblings more than you.

A small sad thing is the look in the eyes of someone you look up to when you've disappointed them.

A small sad thing is cleaning out your locker at the end of the school year knowing you're not going back.

A small sad thing is graduation day when you realize you won't see some of these people gathered here today ever again.
