At Night

At night my thoughts consume me
Like the ocean wraps around a sunken ship
At night my feelings bubble and surface
Like the corpse of a dead whale
Floating to the top of the sea
At night I sit in the silence of the dark
Like a tree in the earth
I cannot move nor speak
My thoughts consume me
Like a letter in a mailbox
Waiting to be opened and read.
