Before You
Before you, I was a mess
But you came in, and pushed me to my best
The problems from the past were starting to pile up
And you were able to lift them off my chest
You took my life and protected it like it was your own
But that’s only one way you show me that I’m not alone
And late at night when I need you the most
You tell me, “Talk to me. I’ll listen through the phone”
There are a million reasons I could give to show how I am blessed
But you are at the top of the list, I couldn’t leave it unexpressed
  Because,
Before you, I was a mess
