Who Wins in Wars? MAG
War
Who gains from wars?
What difference does it make to the dead,
The injured and scarred,
Whether the mad destruction
Is worth all of the struggle and loss
In the name of liberty or democracy?
Why does a small group of individuals
Also known as the government
Have the ability to initiate total war,
To send troops not including themselves
To sometimes certain death
To assert dominance?
To prove a point? To profit? To spread ideas?
If it’s natural to kill,
Then why do men
Train so vigorously
To fight
In a war?

I am a Junior highschool student who enjoys war movies to name a few, Hacksaw Ridge, Unbroken, and Saving Private Ryan. These movies inspired me to write this poem.
