"In Hamilton, Burr spends years waiting for a chair to be offered at the table in 'the room where it happens.' Patience and timing will play a part in your ultimate success for sure. But I found the happiness and consistency I wanted for so long at the exact moment I decided to build my own table and my own chairs." ~ Leslie Odom Jr.

The pure, distinct filter of distance
creates beauty
not distilled by familiarity or the
dusty film of ordinary-ness.
Distance romanticizes foreign lands
and strangers.
It breeds stargazers and explorers
travelers and writers.
Distance gives a bird’s-eye view
to the whole of the world,
telescoping ordinary to extraordinary
and drawing me endlessly in.
