The sky cried as we made our way
We had been hoping we would not die that day
Standing stripped of all our pride, along with our clothes
Forced into a charred chamber, the door shut and barred
A low hiss was heard and a gas filled the air
My chest tightened with pain and i realized the fate we shared
The pain was increasing and blood dripped from my nose
Breathing became impossible, my vision blurred
Then everything goes dark
The pain is gone now, and I’ve left the tyrant's lair.
I am at peace forever all worries are gone
That’s why no one returns from the chamber with toxic air.

The author's comments:

I was inspired to write this by the stories of victims of the Holocaust and a nightmare I had about being there. I wasn't really expecting people to get anything from this, I just want to get the feelings I've had from the insparation from this down in words that expressed them.
