Blood Mountain
There is a mountain
East of the Mississipppi
Called Blood Mountain
A name covered with
Forgotten gore
It blocked the way to Gainesville
So when my family went there
We had to drive up to the top of
Blood Mountian and all the way
Down I would bring a book to
Read and get so dizzy from the
Winding unwinding
Slide climbing roads that almost
Fall off the Mountain's back I
Looked down and saw an endless
Forest and rocks that rolled down
In terrible storms I felt so dizzy
And sick the road is so long at
Night on the way home I heard
Mountian lions screaming like women
Horrible and I picture them crouched on
Ledges and branches but I was safe in the
Car and the Mountian and the lions never hurt me.

This piece is based on my childhood memories of the long dark ride to Gainesville in North Georgia to do some shopping since it was the closest mall.
