The Beach
On the beaches in California.
Warm sand between my toes,
salt water in my hair,
sun beaming down.
Shuffling from stingrays
with a big yellow surf board towering over my head.
Catching the waves.
Crash.
Off the board I go,
but I get back up,
and try again.
I stand up.
Attempting to keep my balance,
I keep standing!
I did it!
Feeling overwhelmed
as the waves carry me to the shore.
