I would have enjoyed having
You as a friend,
Could have had a sibling
To look up to, not down to.
But I guess that wasn’t
His plan. He had
Something else in mind.
Now I play that role,
I’m filling in for you,
At least down here.
It’s quite a task, but
I’m sure you would have
Done it well, and
You are doing it well
I’ve always kind of
Wanted a sibling to look up to.
But I know that I do have one.
I just need to look up,
And I can see that
She’s happy where she is.
I also have older siblings here,
I just have to decide who they are.
Although, maybe, it’s not I who picks
These kinfolk for myself,
But it is you, who selects
Them for me.
