a girl in a coffee shop

the girl in the coffee shop sits in the corner constantly scratching away. what could she be writing about? maybe a book of poetry all about flowers and sad girls or her next big novel. I wonder what she’s sipping this week. maybe it’s the warm chai tea or the steaming latte. her dark chestnut hair catches the sunlight at just the right moment. illuminating the crevices of her face. nothing but cheekbone and eyes. those dark stormy eyes could have me lost at sea for days. cappuccino colored skin glowing in the light. everything about her was entrancing, from the way her red lips moved when she spoke to her delicate collarbones. the way they peeked out of her sweater made me wonder even more about the girl in the coffee shop.

This poem is about infatuation with a stranger. It's capturing when you see someone you don't know, but you want to know them. Strangers are some of the most interesting people ever. It is very easy to be captivated by a stranger.
