Leaf in the Wind

Delicate white flakes
Scatter around you.
The last leaf
On the otherwise bare tree
Hanging on,
This far into winter.
Such a force it is,
The wind,
That pulls you away
From the branch of life.
But morning comes
Always.
The sun pours out
Into the world,
Melting every last flake.
New leaves
Will sprout;
Let go. Explore.
Roam through life
Like a leaf in the wind.
No matter where
The wind takes you.
No matter
How lost.
You will always find
A way back.
