No Longer
She used to get so upset when she thought of them.
It would make her cry in the night, it made her feel broken, beaten down like a stray dog.
She couldn't stop why they weren't there, why they never helped her up.
She blamed herself mostly.
But one day, a ray of sunshine came beaming through the shadowy doors and in that moment she realized she wasn't alone.
No longer will she spend her time thinking of those who weren't there but of those who were.
The ones that would answer her desperate calls at different times of the day.
The ones that told her they were proud of her.
Ones that would make her day just saying a certain phrase. No longer will she think she isn't good enough.
For they showed her she is beautiful like a rainbow, that she is strong and hardworking like a ox pulling a plow through the rough dirt that is life.
No longer will she cry for those who weren't there for her but instead smile for those who were.
